The airport improves in August but still trails last year
A monthly rebound and a negative year-to-date result can coexist.
GAP reported 8.15 million Tijuana passengers for January–August 2026, down 4.4% year over year. August handled 1.126 million, up 1.2% from the previous August, in its preliminary results.
The operator’s table also specifies that CBX users in both directions are classified as international. That category therefore cannot simply be read as passengers on international flights.
