Tijuana received half of reported municipal transfers
The city’s share of transfers does not by itself show how the money was spent.
State figures covered in September assign Tijuana 4,939.1 million pesos in transfers for January–July 2026, roughly half of the amount transferred to Baja California’s municipal governments.
The Treasury distinguishes earmarked contributions, tied to purposes such as education or health, from revenue-sharing transfers whose spending objectives are set locally. Combining them shows scale but hides differences in permitted use.
